Vacancy Notice

The Peru Elementary District 124 Board of Education is now accepting applications from interested residents of the district to be considered as a candidate to fill the open board vacancy which expires April 2027.

Interested citizens will need to submit a cover letter and resume sent to Peru Elementary School District 124 Attn: Megan Baltikauski, Board Secretary, 1800 Church St., Peru, IL 61354. The letter must be received in the district office on or before May 9, 2025.

Those interested in the position should review the Board Policy Manual, which is available online at www.perued.net.  Per the policy manual, a School Board member must be on the date of election or appointment, a United States citizen, at least 18 years of age, a resident of Illinois and the District for at least one year immediately preceding the election, and a registered voter. Reasons making an individual ineligible for Board membership include holding an incompatible office and certain types of State or federal employment. A child sex offender, as defined in State law, is ineligible for School Board membership.
