A Message from Superintendent Linnig

Dear Peru Elementary School District #124 Families and Community,

Now that the 2025-26 school year is underway, I wanted to reach out and share what a privilege and honor it has been to join such a remarkable team of students, families, teachers, staff, and community. I am honored that the Board of Education has entrusted me to lead your district. I appreciate the warm welcome and all the support I have received since my arrival. I have experienced first-hand the deep commitment and passion that defines this district, and I am grateful to be a part of it.

At the heart of everything we do is our district’s mission, “Preparing our students to learn, grow, and reach their greatest potential.” Our mission is more than words in a strategic plan; it is what we are responsible and accountable for and what drives our decisions. Our students are the reason we are here, and their education, safety, and well-being must always be among our top priorities.

As we begin this school year, I want to emphasize our commitment to cultivating an environment where every student feels safe, valued, and a true sense of belonging. An amazing teacher I worked with used to say, “students may not remember everything you taught them, but they will remember how you made them feel.”  We believe that when students feel valued, connected, and supported, they will be empowered to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

We will continue to set high expectations, challenge our students, and inspire them to set and achieve goals. We are committed to the ongoing evaluation of educational opportunities available to our students to ensure continuous growth and improvement and we will do this together as a team.

One of the greatest influences on student achievement is having a common, collective focus. If families, educators, staff, administration, and the Board of Education are committed to working together and focused on preparing our students to learn, grow, and achieve, there is no telling what we can accomplish.

Our School District is fortunate to have such strong support and pride from the community and city leadership, and we look forward to continuing our partnership well into the future. Exceptional school districts are essential to the growth and development of any community, and we all benefit when our schools thrive. Working together in partnership, our students, parents, and community have benefited, and we look forward to continuing the partnership and serving as a model to other communities.

I look forward to a great school year and I am honored to be part of this amazing district. Together we will continue to learn, grow, and achieve as a community and ensure that Peru Schools remain a leader in education.
