We will continue with strict PPE enforcement, sanitation, and cleaning of our buildings, as well as enforce the following health and safety protocols:

Temperature & Symptoms Checks

All students will have their temperature taken upon arrival at school or prior to entering the bus at their bus stop. Parents of PreK-2nd grade students must accompany students to the bus stop and stay with them until they get on the bus in case a fever is noted and the student must stay home that day.  Students who demonstrate a temperature over 100.4° will not be allowed to enter the bus or enter the school building.  Students who show symptoms or have a temperature over 100.4° while at school will be sent to the office and parents will immediately be contacted.

Social Distancing and Masks

  • Students and staff will be required to wear masks covering the nose and mouth.
  • Students and staff will maintain social distance of 3-6 feet from one another as best as possible. With increased class sizes, we can no longer guarantee students will always be a full 6 feet apart, but we will do our best to maintain social distancing. New IDPH guidelines were recently released stating students should remain 3-6 feet apart while masked, and a full 6 feet apart during unmasked times such as lunch.
  • Short outside mask breaks will be provided during the day while maintaining more than 6 feet distance.

Signs & Symptoms

Parents are responsible for keeping their child(ren) home if they are showing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19, which include but are not limited to:

  • Fever of 100.4° or higher
  • New onset of moderate to severe headache
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • New loss of sense of taste or smell
  • Fatigue from unknown causes
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Nausea or Vomiting
  • New Cough
  • Sore Throat
  • Diarrhea
  • Chills

Students with signs or symptoms of COVID-19 during the school day will be sent to an isolated health room with staff supervision, and parents will be contacted to pick up the student, as well as any siblings located in either school, per IDPH guidelines.

We are very excited to be able to offer all day instruction again. Given the fact students will be in closer proximity at school and on buses, we will need your help. If there is any doubt your student has signs or symptoms of COVID or has been in contact with someone who is exhibiting symptoms, please contact us before sending them to school.  Any future COVID positives at school will result in a greater number of possible students who must quarantine as a close contact. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or the building offices if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Jamie Craven, Superintendent
