Parents, Guardians, and Preschoolers -
Welcome to an exciting new school year! This is my 6th year teaching preschool and my 3rd year at Peru School district. Prior to teaching in Peru I taught Developmental Preschool at Earlville School District and At-Risk Preschool for Oswego School District. I am finally back to my home area now and enjoy being a part of Peru’s Bright Futures!
A little about myself….
Before starting my teaching career I graduated from Northern Illinois University with my Bachelors in Speech Pathology in May 2004 and graduated in December 2006 with my Masters in Early Childhood Education. While working on my Masters Degree I was a Speech Therapy Assistant in Ottawa school district. I will also be graduating this December with my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership!!!
I currently live in La Salle with my husband Eric, our soon to be 1-year-old daughter Addyson, our dog Macy and cat Aly. Our family will be expanding again this Winter as we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our second child in January. As always you can usually find me busily working in my classroom. But when I do have free time I like to spend time with my family, or adventuring in the great outdoors.
A little about our class….
The theme of our classroom this year is Learning Safari! Our program hours will be AM Class 8:30-11:00am and PM Class 11:45am-2:15 pm. I have enclosed a copy of the daily schedule for you.
We will be using the Creative Curriculum, which is a wonderful curriculum that focuses on the whole child (Physical, Social/Emotional, Cognitive, and Language development) as well as Michael Heggerty’s Phonemic Awareness for Preschool. Please see your Bright Futures PreK Preview booklet for more information on the curriculum.
So with that said….
