Picnic Games

Picnic Games

Students will alternate between Bean Bag Toss, Bocce Ball, Kick Croquet, and Ladder Golf.

Bean Bag Toss

Each team plays with 3 bags.

Team partners will face each other from opposite boards.

Opponents will alternate tosses until all 6 bags are thrown.

The last team to score on the previous round tosses first.

Each game is played to 15 points.

You receive 1 point for any bag that lands on the board. (ACE)

You receive 3 points for any bag that goes in the hole. (BAGGO)

Only one team can score each round. (The score is the difference in the two team totals)

If a bag ever touches the ground or it is tossed out of turn, that bag does not count.

A foot foul occurs when a tosser’s foot crosses the front of the board while tossing.

Bocce Ball

Each team will consist of 4 players.

Each game will be played up to 13 points.

Only one team can be awarded points in each round.

Each player must either toss (underhand) or bowl his/her bocce ball.

All players must stand behind the foul line when tossing his/her bocce ball.

The first player will throw the target ball, followed by his/her bocce ball.

After the first player throws his/her bocce ball the other team will try and get their bocce balls closer to the target ball than the first team.  Once this happens the second team is considered "inside".  The team that is "inside" then steps aside and lets the team that is "outside" attempt to become inside.

When all bocce balls have been tossed, one point is awarded for each ball closer to the target ball than the opposing team's balls.  Only the team with the most bocce balls closer to the target ball will be awarded points.

Kick Croquet

Each team will consist of 4 players.

Each player will take turns with their team kicking the ball one time either towards or through a wicket.

Only one team may kick their ball at a time.

After the first team finishes kicking the second team will begin.

Players must follow the correct order of the wickets (figure 8).

The ball must go at least half-way through the wicket to be considered clear of the wicket.

If the ball goes through the wicket, that player will get a bonus kick.

The first team to go back and forth through the croquet course wins.

Ladder Golf

Bola- 2 golf balls attached together 13 inches apart with a piece of nylon rope

Each team will consist of two players.

Each player on a team will alternate rounds playing ladder golf.

The ladder will be set up 15 feet from the throwers.

Each player will throw all 3 bolas before the other player may throw.

Throwing the bola on the top step is worth 3 points, the middle step is worth 2 points, and the bottom step is worth 1 point.

Only one team per round can score points.  The score will be the difference of both teams scores.

An official game of ladder golf is played to 21 points.

Players must get an exact score of 21 to win the game (if they do not get exactly 21 the teams points from that round do not count).
