Welcome to Peru Schools!

Peru Elementary School District 124 has an outstanding reputation for many reasons, the biggest being the child-centered dedication and commitment of an outstanding faculty, staff and leadership team. An organization is only as strong as the people who work there, and you will not find a more dedicated, caring and child-centered group of people than those who dedicate their lives to providing our children with an excellent education.

Our mission is to prepare our students to learn, grow and reach their greatest potential. Nothing less will suffice. We work constantly to achieve this mission, as we not only have to prepare our students for high school, but also to compete in an increasingly competitive global workforce. This mission is supported by our Beliefs, Values and Goals.Things are changing very quickly in the world of education, particularly in our district. Everyone needs to understand that going to school is not the same as what it was even a few years ago. We are rapidly evolving with utilizing technology to actively engage students in the teaching and learning process, which is why you see SmartBoards in classrooms, more iPads in the hands of students, a 1:1 initiative with Chromebooks, drones flying in the hallways, coding taking place in classrooms, and so many more things that make learning come to life.

While we work very hard to do so, unlocking a child's academic potential needs to happen not only at school, but at home as well. More than ever, we truly need the active and engaged involvement of parents in the educational process. Parents have always been, and always will be, their child's first teacher. Children who come from homes with a nurturing, healthy environment rich with access to age-appropriate books and endless learning opportunities have exponentially greater odds of achieving both academic, financial and personal success later in their lives. Education both at home and at school is the greatest insurance against poverty, and is the greatest assurance of success.

Never hesitate to contact the district or building offices with any questions or concerns, and thank you for your support of our children and our schools!
