Outstanding Choral Award - Alika K.
Selected by the chorus teacher using the following requirements: a three year member of chorus, a lead role in the musical, demonstrates effort, displays leadership and good citizenship and good academic record.
Brett Barry Outstanding Art Award - Sara B.
This award is presented in memory of Brett Barry. Brett was a Washington School student who was killed in a car accident at the age of 18. He was an exceptionally talented artist who enjoyed oil painting and drawing. The recipient is selected by the art teacher based on the following criteria: an outstanding artist, must have entered work in art shows, artist of the month, good academic grades and citizenship, and must be in eighth grade.
Austyn Edwards Award - Natalie S.
This award is presented in memory of one of the Illinois Valley's most outstanding professional musicians. Mr. Edwards was a world renowned composer and exceptional teacher who taught in this area for many years. The recipient is selected by the band director using the following criteria: an outstanding musician, will continue band at the high school level and demonstrates good character.
Michael Izzo Memorial Award - Ellen R.
Michael Izzo was a student at Washington School who was killed in an automobile accident. He was active in athletics as well as Band and Chorus. This award was established in Michael's honor to recognize the student or students who reach high musical standards. The recipient is selected jointly by the chorus and band directors with the following requirements: member of band and chorus for at least two years, above average academic grades, above average citizenship, an inspiration to others through leadership and outstanding musical achievement and interest.

Chosen by the gym teachers with the following requirements: demonstrates outstanding strength, speed, agility, flexibility and rate among the top performance levels as established by the Presidential Physical Fitness Award Standards.
Robert Alpert Outstanding Athlete Award - Ellen R.
Bob Alpert was a Peru teacher and coach. He contributed greatly to the academic and athletic history of Washington School. To be awarded the Robert Alpert Athletic Award you must be participate in 2 sports, have above average academic achievement and above average citizenship performance.
Jade Muylle Memorial Award - Natalie S.
Jade Muylle was a student at Washington School. He died his 8th grade year and this award was established by his family in memory. The recipient is selected according to the following requirements: must be a member of the eighth grade graduating class, must have attended the eighth grade at Washington School for all four quarters receiving grades in all academic areas, must maintain the highest accumulative scholastic GPA while enrolled in the eighth grade and must maintain a 3.4 GPA in citizenship.
