"Children don't care what you know...until they know that you care".
My name is Mrs. Lisa Goddard.
I love teaching Fourth Grade at Peru Washington School!
About Me...
I was born and raised in Peru, Illinois. My parents are James (Jim) and Nancy Wroblewski. I went to school at Northview School (kindergarten through fifth), Peru Washington Jr. High (sixth through eighth), and LaSalle-Peru Township High School. I have always enjoyed working with children. After high school, I went onto to study at Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC), where I earned my Associate's Degree. I then attended Illinois State University (ISU), where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. In 2007, I went back to school and earned my type 75 certificate in Educational Administration at Governors State University.
My Professional Experience...
Right out of college, I taught fourth grade in Mendota, Illinois for one year; then I was a fourth grade teacher (four years) and a first grade teacher (one year) in Earlville, Illinois; followed by two years as a principal of a K-5 elementary school; and currently I am very thankful to be teaching fourth grade at Peru Washington School.
About My Family...
My family is very important to me. My husband's name is Dave. He loves to be outside doing his landscaping things. In the spring, summer, and fall...he is very busy taking care of lawns; building patios; planting trees and flowers, etc. In the winter time, he plows snow (if we are lucky). He loves what he does! My daughter Gracie loves the color pink; anything that has to do with fashion; music (of all kinds); and art. My son, Andrew, loves playing with trucks, cars, and pretty much anything that can make loud noises and breaks into a million pieces. His favorite thing of all is getting dirty.
Gracie, Andrew, and Dave keep me very busy at night and on the weekends. We love spending time together! We make each other laugh a lot.
In addition, my family enjoys being active together outdoors! We have several toys which make boating, camping, biking, snowmobiling, skiing, and four wheeling a blast. We are always up for a new adventure. Whenever the weather isn't so nice outside, we also enjoy kicking back inside the house and relaxing on our big couch in the basement. We look forward to a day of rest (which rarely happens because we are always on the go). A great day of rest to me means watching a good movie; eating popcorn; snuggling up in a warm blanket; lounging in my PJs; and just doing absolutely nothing! :)
My Outlook On Things...
I try to live each day to the fullest. I am a very positive, friendly, educated, caring, and upbeat person. I believe in the saying "do unto others as you would want done to you". Each morning, I wake up eager to start my day. I can't wait to get to school. I have a very important job to do. I love teaching and I wouldn't trade my job for anything in the world.
I hope that you have a better understanding of who I am. Please feel free to contact me at school if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lisa Goddard
